New Philadelphia boys golf state-bound with Division I district win; Dover 3rd, West Holmes 4th

The New Philadelphia Quakers won the Division I East District boys golf tournament on Tuesday at EagleSticks Golf Club.

The Quakers advanced to the State tournament with a 312 team total, led by Shad Kenily’s medalist-earning 3-over 75. Scoring alongside Kenily for New Phila were fellow seniors Austin Erickson (78) and Jacob Hootman (79), as well as sophomore Nathan Menapace (80).

Marietta finished in second place at 319 but will be represented in Columbus, as junior A.J. Graham carded a 76 to finish one shot behind Kenily among individuals.

Dover (326) finished third in the seven-team tournament, while West Holmes (330) finished fourth. Carter Begue led the Crimson Tornadoes at 326, while Brody Allen posted a 79 for the Knights.

New Philadelphia will play at the Scarlet Course at The Ohio State University on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 22-23.
