The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the death that occurred along I-77 at mile post 87.
Officials say they were requested the Perry Township Police Department advised other agencies in the area to be on the lookout for a possible suicidal female.
A vehicle matching the description was located parked on the southbound berm of Interstate 77 just after 6 p.m. Wednesday. A check of the vehicle revealed a deceased female in the driver’s seat.
ODOT shut down the roadway from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. as law enforcement investigated the scene.
The death remains under investigation.
Assisting on scene with the Ohio State Highway Patrol was Strasburg Police Department, Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office, Strasburg Fire and EMS, and Jim’s Towing.
