The Louisville Leopards topped New Philadelphia High School's girls' tennis team 4-1 on Wednesday at Tuscora.

Rachel Kibler defeated Alexis Mamula in perfect straight sets (6-0, 6-0), while Jade Thomas and Katie Yarnall each won their respective singles matches against Katie Troyer (7-5, 6-1) and Meagan Prouty (6-1, 6-2).

In doubles play, Bailey Menegay and McKenzie Taylor(6-3, 7-6 (7-2)) won a match for the Leopards, while the Quakers were able to win with Shannon Russell and Ella Wherley, who topped Jhacel Dawa and Kora Woolf.

Louisville improves to 5-1 on the season.

CAMBRIDGE 4, CLAYMONT 1

The Cambridge Bobcats picked up a road match win over Claymont.

Both schools split their singles matches, as Claymont's Arianna Terakedis (6-0, 6-1) topped Kylie Taylor, while Sidney Kirkbride bested Makayla Kendall (6-1, 6-1). The Bobcats did pick up a second singles win, as the Mustangs were forced to forfeit due to unavailable players.

In doubles, Cambridge was led by Ziciah Gibson and Kara Loader(6-4,6-0 over Claymont's Maddison Houston and Brooke Davis), as well as Gabby Porter and Makena Brown (6-4, 6-2 over Emily Luyster and Emma Leseicki).

GIRLS SOCCER

FAIRLESS 2, CVCA 0

Gracie Ashton scored both of Fairless's goals in the Falcons' 2-0 victory over Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy in girls' soccer on Wednesday night.

Ashton's first goal came in the first half via a corner kick, and the junior forward added to the Falcons' lead with a direct kick in the back left corner of the net with just over five minutes left in the match.

The Falcons improve to 5-0 (1-0 in PAC-7 play) with the victory.

MARLINGTON 3, CARROLLTON 0

The Dukes of Marlington defeated Carrollton on Wednesday.

Marlington was led in scoring by Shailey Miller, who scored twice, along with a goal by Hailey Confalone.

Briana Ohler made 23 saves in goal for the Warriors.

BOYS GOLF

STRASBURG 180, INDIAN VALLEY 184

The Tigers beat the Braves by four shots in Wednesday's boys golf match at Five Waters.

Trenton Bitikofer led all golfers at 43 (+7), along with Andrew Harvey (44, +8) contributing to Strasburg's win.

The Tigers advance to 2-1 on the season.

GIRLS GOLF

GARAWAY 157, MARLINGTON 159, INDIAN VALLEY 212

Garaway's girls' golf team fired a 157 to best the Marlington Dukes (159) and the Indian Valley Braves (212) on Wednesday at Black Gold.

Sammi Miller led the way for the Bucs with an even-par 36, while Brooklyn Number and Olivia Immel each shot 40s (+4). Sydni Prysi rounded out Garaway's scores at 41 (+5).

Marlington's Marie Warner (36, +2) and Zoe Mart (38, +2) kept the match close, along with a 42 (+6) from Jayden Mitchell and a 43 (+7 from Kelsey Neiman.

Emily Jones (42, +6) shot the low round for the Braves.

CARROLLTON 177, ALLIANCE 221

Carrollton's girls golfers improved to 8-1 on the year with a 177-221 victory over Alliance at Sleepy Hollow.

Ashlee Garner led all golfers with a 38 (+2), while Claire Hostetler (43, +7), Pheobe Moore, and Mack Rummell (both 48, +12) contributed to the Warriors win.

Alliance was led in scoring by Anna Eversdyke, who shot 49 (+13).

CLAYMONT (207) vs SANDY VALLEY

The Claymont Mustangs competed with Sandy Valley at Wilkshire's front nine, with the Cardinals competing with only three players.

Claymont was led in scoring by match medalist Jocelyn Scalambrino (43, +7). Alivia Edwards (47, +11), Meadow Duvall (54, +18), and Mimi Bausch (63, +27) rounded out the Mustangs' top scores.

John Glenn's volleyball squad sweated out a four-set win over River View on Wednesday at John Glenn High School.

The Muskies took the first two sets of the match, but dropped the third set to the Black Bears and trailed 17-14 in the fourth.

However, John Glenn rallied for the comeback win in what would be the final set.
