On Wednesday evening, the Canton Local school district announced that they would be implementing a mandatory mask policy for all students and staff members.
The mask mandate comes after 26 students have tested positive for Covid in the short period that school has been in session. those positive cases have resulted in nearly 200 students being quarantined due to contact tracing.
The mask mandate will go in effect on September 7 for all students. Teachers and staff will be required to start wearing their mask beginning September 2.
Mask will be required inside all school buildings and on school buses. Mask will not be required for outdoor events.
