UPDATE: Two die in Stark County motorcycle accident after car runs stop sign

UPDATE: The driver of the motorcycle, 67-year-old Charles R. Wise of Plain Township and the motorcycle passenger, 66-year-old Virginia E. Wise of Plain Township were pronounced deceased at the scene.

A motorcycle operator and their passenger are dead following an accident Thursday evening in Plain Township.

According to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, a Cadillac SUV was traveling southbound on Marelis Ave. NE when the driver of the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign while turning right onto Applegrove St. NE. After running the stop sign, the Cadillac struck a Harley Davidson Motorcycle traveling westbound on Applegrove St. NE. After the initial collision, the motorcycle was pushed into the eastbound lane of Applegrove St. before being struck by a Ford F-350 pickup truck.

Both the operator and the passenger of the motorcycle died at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
