Ariona Rutledge scored a goal in the 57th minute in Carrollton’s 1-0 girls soccer win over Sandy Valley on Monday night in Magnolia.

Johanna Sieger recorded an assist on Rutledge’s goal, while Warriors goalie Brianna Ohler had a shutout performance.

The Cardinals nearly tied the game with just over two minutes remaining as Nadie Perdew’s kick past Ohler rolled just left of the left goal post.

Sandy goalie Morgan VanMeter saved six shots, despite taking the loss.

LAKE CENTER CHRISTIAN def. SANDY VALLEY, 4-3

Lake Center Christian posted a 4-3 victory over the Sandy Valley Cardinals on Monday.

VOLLEYBALL

DOVER 25-25-25, RIDGEWOOD, 20-14-19

The Crimson Tornadoes opened their volleyball season with a three-set with against Ridgewood.

Dover’s top performers included Taylor Luneborg (13 kills, 18 digs) and Morgan Kiser (8 kills, 12 points, 17 digs).

LOUISVILLE 25-25-22-25, NEW PHILADELPHIA 17-22-25-22

The Louisville Leopards rallied from a 20-11 deficit in the second set to best the Quakers in four sets on Monday.

GIRLS TENNIS

NEW PHILADELPHIA 3, ZANESVILLE 2

New Phila’s girls’ squad defeated the Blue Devils, boosting their season record to 4-1.

The Quakers got winning performances from Amber Albritton (6-4, 6-0) in No. 3 singles, while the respective pairs of Sophie Troyer-Sarah Jaberg (5-7, 6-4, 6-2) and Shannon Russell-Ella Yoder (6-2, 6-2) were victorious in Nos. 1 and 2 doubles.
