Carrollton Elementary School will be closed Tuesday (Aug. 24) and Wednesday (Aug. 25) due to excessive heat forecasted and a heat index warning, according to Carrollton Schools Superintendent Dr. David Quattrochi.
This closing will only impact the district’s elementary school. Middle and High School students will still be required to attend school (the new buildings have air conditioning).
Dr. Quattrochi says the heat index inside the elementary building will be above 100 degrees for the days aforementioned.
Carrollton Elementary will re-open for students on Thursday (Aug. 26), unless stated otherwise.
