Mason Tucci earns All-Ohio honors at state, younger sister Lexi places ninth

Sandy Valley’s only state qualifiers made some noise at the Division II state track and field meet Friday morning.

Mason Tucci, a junior for the Cardinals, earned a spot on the podium in the boys long jump event. The leaper recorded a jump of 21′ 6.75″ to finish eighth in the state and be named an All-Ohio athlete.

Lexi Tucci, the freshman younger sister for Mason, narrowly missed the podium in the high jump event. She finished ninth with a jump of 5′ 2″.

The brother-sister duo will both return next season as a senior and sophomore.
