A man is dead and a woman has been charged with murder after a shooting on Arbor Rd NE in Mechanicstown Monday evening.
Carroll County Sheriff Dale Williams tells JMN his department responded after Audrey Kole, 34, called 911 saying she shot her boyfriend Matthew Michael Mott, 32.
When officials responded to the Arbor Rd NE home, Mott was found dead.
Williams said Kole claims she was being attacked by Mott and that is when she shot him. He died after suffering one gunshot wound.
Kole was transported to Mercy Hospital and checked out. She was released later.
She’ll appear in court at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday for arraignment.
Williams said the Bureau of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation.
