Minerva man charged for allegedly shooting shotgun into father’s home on Easter

The Carroll County Grand Jury indicted Matthew Mayle, 45, of Lumen Rd, Minerva, on one count of Improperly Discharging a Firearm at or into a Habitation with a Firearm Specification, a felony of the second degree.

According to Prosecutor Steven Barnett, Mayle is accused of firing multiple rounds from a shotgun at his father’s home. One of the rounds passed through the walls of the garage and residence, landing in a bathroom adjacent to where Mayle’s father was usually seated.

Mayle was also charged with one count of Felonious Assault with a Firearm Specification (F2), one count of Domestic Violence (M1), one count of Criminal Damaging (M2).

Mayle has entered a written plea of not guilty. Judge Mike Repella approved bond to be set at $250,000 cash or surety.

Pre-trial is scheduled for April 22 at 10 a.m.
