The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of Jerome L. Starner, 39, of Coshocton, and Melannis L. Stevens, 45, of Newcomerstown in connection to a hit-and-run accident that occurred Saturday, March 27.

Starner and Stevens were charged with one count each of Tampering With Evidence (F3).

It is unclear what the two did to warrant the charges but police say the accident remains under investigation.

Shawn and Robin O’Neill were victims of a hit-and-run accident on St. Rt. 751 Saturday. The couple was on their motorcycle when a vehicle went left of center, striking their bike and leaving them in a ditch.

At this time, it is unclear if Starner and Stevens were the suspects in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
