The Columbiana Police Department responded Saturday night to the 300 block of Quincy Ave. after reports of a child being shot.
The child was treated at the scene and transported to St. Elizabeth’s but later died due to their injuries, according to reports from WFMJ.
The police chief believes the shooting appears to be accidental but an investigation is ongoing with assistance from the county prosecutor and children services.
