Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force have made a second arrested in the murder of 22-year-old Gaven Carlisle.

The NOVTF arrested Tequan Franklin, 22 in the Cleveland. Franklin was wanted by the New Philadelphia Police Department for complicity to commit murder.

Frankin and Sajjaad Butler, 19, are accused in the shooting death of Carlisle on March 5. According to police, Franklin and Butler met Carlisle at an address near the 600 block of 11th Drive NW to do a drug deal and Carlisle ended up being shot and killed. Butler was arrested later that day.

Task force members tracked Franklin to the Cleveland area Thursday afternoon after receiving information he fled the Canton area. He was arrested while in a vehicle outside a convenient store near the 3900 block of Warrensville Center Road, Warrensville Heights, Ohio.

“The successful arrest of this violent fugitive was due to the strong partnerships between local law enforcement and the US Marshals Service in northern Ohio,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott.
