Accoridng to Hinckley police Chief David Centner, a young boy named tony was reunited with his father after being abandoned at a Hinckley cemetery.
“This week he was placed back in the care of his father and reunited with his dog,” Chief Centner announced in a social media post. “I spoke with his father this morning and he expressed his appreciation to everyone for their generosity and said Tony is doing very well.”
Chief Centner noted that the young boy’s father was not involved in the abdonment of his son.
“I want to make it clear that the father was in no way involved with this incident and has been extremely cooperative with HPD and Children Services,” he said.
Police say the mother of Tony, who is in a medical facility, is the ‘focus’ of the investigation.
Police are working to press charges against the mother once she is released from the hospital, Centner noted.
